COVID-19: 1,908 new cases, 1,129 recoveries, 22 die
Skopje, 28 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,908 new COVID-19 infections after 5,834 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 22 deaths and 1,129 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Friday. Of the new cases, 972 were registered in Skopje, followed by Kavadarci – 112, Kumanovo – 111, Bitola – 105, Veles – 62, Tetovo – 58, Prilep – 54, Negotino – 46, Strumica – 45, Ohrid – 43, Gostivar – 34, Gevgelija – 30, Shtip – 27, Kichevo – 24, Kochani – 24, Radovish – 22, Resen – 21, Valandovo – 17, Kriva Palanka – 16, Struga – 15, Sveti Nikole – 12, Berovo – 10, Bogdanci – 10, Delchevo – 9, Vinica – 5, Demir Kapija – 4, Pehchevo – 4, Debar – 3, Probishtip – 3, Makedonski Brod – 3, Kratovo – 2, Krushevo – 2, Makedonska Kamenica – 2, and Dojran – 1. In addition, 254 of the total number of new cases (1,908) are reinfections. Twenty-two deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including five in Skopje (aged 53, 69, 69, 75 and 75), two in Bitola (74 and 85), two in Veles (68 and 93), two in Kumanovo (78 and 82), two in Sveti Nikole (52 and 78), one in Kavadarci (57), one in Kichevo (65), one in Makedonski Brod (60), one in Negotino (73), one in Ohrid (65), one in Prilep (82), one in Radovish (81), one in Resen (63) and one in Struga (83). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, four people died in the period Jan. 4-26, 2022. Seven of those who died (26) were fully vaccinated. At the moment, 17,182 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,773,325 tests, recording 265,101 COVID-19 cases and 239,581 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,338.
