COVID-19: 1,554 new cases, 1,843 recoveries, 34 die
Skopje, 9 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,554 new COVID-19 infections after 4,153 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 34 deaths and 1,843 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday. Of the new cases, 825 were registered in Skopje, followed by Tetovo – 82, Kumanovo – 70, Kavadarci – 62, Bitola – 59, Veles – 51, Prilep – 49, Gostivar – 44, Strumica – 33, Ohrid – 32, Gevgelija – 32, Negotino – 30, Kochani – 21, Shtip – 20, Kichevo – 20, Struga – 16, Sveti Nikole – 15, Resen – 12, Berovo – 10, Valandovo – 10, Radovish – 9, Kriva Palanka – 8, Delchevo – 8, Vinica – 7, Kratovo – 6, Bogdanci – 5, Demir Kapija – 5, Debar – 4, Probishtip – 2, Krushevo – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2 and Demir Hisar – 1. In addition, 216 of the total number of new cases (1,554) are reinfections. Twenty-two deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including 12 in Skopje (aged 62, 71, 73, 75, 75, 75, 81, 81, 86, 88, 88 and 92), two in Bitola (64 and 80), two in Struga (76 and 84), one in Strumica (66), one in Shtip (67), one in Prilep (73), one in Ohrid (81), one in Sveti Nikole (84) and one in Demir Kapija (86). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, 22 people died in the period Jan. 31-Feb.6. Eighteen of those who died (34) were fully vaccinated. At the moment, 11,748 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,830,764 tests, recording 282,147 COVID-19 cases and 261,741 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,658.
