COVID-19: 1,171 new cases and 6 deaths in past 24 hours
Skopje, 7 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Friday registered 1,171 new COVID-19 infections after 7,932 tests conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as six deaths and 204 recoveries.
Of the new cases, Skopje reported 641, the Health Ministry said Friday.
At the moment, there are 9,166 active cases nationwide, including 5,231 in the capital Skopje.
Four patients in Skopje, aged 69, 77, 84 and 91, died in hospital as well as two patients in Bitola and Valandovo each.
According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, four people died in the period between Dec. 12, 2021 and Jan. 5, 2022, aged from 48 to 83.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,641,868 tests, recording 231,436 COVID-19 cases and 214,258 recoveries.
The death toll has reached 8,012.
