COVID-19: 1,117 new cases, 1,059 recoveries, 14 die
Skopje, 17 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,117 new COVID-19 infections after 3,513 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 14 deaths and 1,059 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. Of the new cases, 575 were registered in Skopje, followed by Veles – 63, Kumanovo – 56, Bitola – 54, Kavadarci – 44, Strumica – 38, Kichevo – 33, Tetovo – 32, Prilep – 29, Gostivar – 24, Ohrid – 20, Radovish – 17, Gevgelija – 16, Shtip – 15, Negotino – 15, Kochani – 12, Struga – 11, Debar – 11, Resen – 10, Kriva Palanka – 9, Kratovo – 5, Sveti Nikole – 4, Berovo – 4, Valandovo – 4, Delchevo – 3, Bogdanci – 3, Vinica – 2, Probishtip – 2, Krushevo – 2, Demir Hisar – 1, Demir Kapija – 1, Makedonski Brod – 1, and Pehchevo – 1. In addition, 154 of the total number of new cases (1,117) are reinfections. Fourteen deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including eight in Skopje (aged 66, 75, 75, 76, 77, 81, 82 and 85), two in Bitola (68 and 78), one in Kumanovo (89), one in Prilep (80), one in Vinica (72), and one in Negotino (65). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, eight people died in period Feb.3-15. At the moment, 8,821 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,859,233 tests, recording 290,915 COVID-19 cases and 273,243 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,851.
