Skopje, 4 December 2023 (MIA) — The Skopje Criminal Court has ordered 48 hours in detention for Vanja Gjorchevska's father, Aleksandar Gjorchevski, who is one of the suspects in her murder.

According to the Skopje Criminal Court, the detention order is to prevent the suspect from fleeing to avoid criminal proceedings and to prevent him from influencing key witnesses.

Earlier on Monday, the Criminal Court issued an order to conduct an investigation against Ljupcho Palevski, the prime suspect in the murders of Vanja Gjorchevska and Panche Zhezhovski, who is suspected to be the organizer and perpetrator of their murders.

"For the suspect who is on the run," the Public Prosecutor's Office announced, "an order was issued to conduct an investigation for the crimes of Kidnapping from Article 141 and Murder from Article 123 of the Criminal Code."
