Country marks St. Clement of Ohrid Day
- North Macedonia is celebrating the national holiday of St. Clement of Ohrid Day with a series of events, including an awards ceremony in Parliament for the 2023 St. Clement of Ohrid awards for outstanding achievement in education, culture, arts, healthcare and environmental protection.
Skopje, 8 December 2023 (MIA) — North Macedonia is celebrating the national holiday of St. Clement of Ohrid Day with a series of events, including an awards ceremony in Parliament for the 2023 St. Clement of Ohrid awards for outstanding achievement in education, culture, arts, healthcare and environmental protection.
This year's St. Clement of Ohrid award recipients are university professor Rabije Murati and film director Antonio Mitrikjeski.
In addition, a government delegation will lay flowers at the St. Clement of Ohrid monument in front of the National and University Library.
The delegation will be led by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, and include Viktorija Avramovska Madikj, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Bekim Rexhepi, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
PM Kovachevski will then open an event titled "St. Clement of Ohrid, the Source of Our Spirituality and Education," which will be held at the National and University Library.
Considered the patron saint of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, St. Clement of Ohrid will also be honored at churches nationwide, which will hold liturgies. mr/
