Corridors VIII and X-d – 58 percent of expropriation, 33 percent of geotechnical investigation works completed
Skopje, 1 February 2024 (MIA) – A total of 58 percent of expropriation design has been completed, as well as 33 percent of geotechnical investigation works as part of the construction of Corridor VIII and X-d motorway sections, shows the Report from the supervision of construction on the corridors for the period between November 1 and December 31, 2023.
The report, published on the website of the Public Enterprise for State Roads, shows that the contractor performed works for expropriation design, geotechnical investigation works, and other previous activities and motorway specifications for the Tetovo-Gostivar-Bukojchani, Trebenishta-Struga-Kjafasan sections of Corridor VIII and Prilep-Bitola section of Corridor X-d.
It also shows financial transactions between the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Public Enterprise for State Roads as part of the road infrastructure financing program, i.e. payments to the contractor.
According to Report, in November a transaction of Mden 223.596.680 was realized. In December, there were four different payouts: Mden 245.606.294 on December 5, two transactions of Mden 669.225.176 and Mden 261.862.793 on December 28, and a transaction of Mden 1.695.871.044 on December 29.
In 2023, as part of the road infrastructure financing program, Mden 15 billion were projected for the project. This year, the Transport Ministry has allocated Mden 15.1 billion for the project.
The contract with U.S. - Turkish consortium Bechtel-Enka, as the contractor for the project, was signed in March 2023.
