Skopje 5 November 2021 (MIA) – A Government no-confidence vote is initiated by at least 20 MPs and the vote is carried out after the expiry of three days from its proposal, reads the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia. “The Government and its members are accountable before the Parliament. The Parliament may take a Government no-confidence vote. At least 20 lawmakers can initiate a no-confidence vote. The vote is carried out upon the expiry of three days from the proposal,” reads Article 92 of the Constitution. It adds that the decision is passed by majority of votes from the total number of MPs. The Government is obliged to resign if the no-confidence is passed. A no-confidence vote cannot be initiated upon the expiry of 90 days from the last no-confidence vote unless proposed by a majority of MPs. Article 93 reads a Government that has not survived a no-confidence vote, that resigned or which term expired due to the Parliament’s dissolution, remains in office until the election of a new government.
