Skopje, 5 September 2024 (MIA) - A total of 40 wildfires were registered in the country on Wednesday, six of them are still active and one is under control, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said Thursday.

The fire burning in the Municipality of Prilep, between the villages Peshtani – Kokre – Kalen – Dunje – Bonche – Krushevica – Volkovo is still active. It is spreading in three different sides, from the village of Bonche to the village of Krushevica, from the Sliva mountain pass towards the Chumovo village and the Peshtani village. Low vegetation, dry grass and pine forest are affected.

The CMC said the wildfire in the Municipality of Chaska burning on the Mukos mountain towards the village of Stepanci is under control, while the wildfire near the villages of Omorani and Oraov Dol remains active.

There are active wildfires in the Municipality of Petrovec between the villages of Gradmanci, Breznica and Katlanovo; in the Municipality of Shtip between the villages of Hadji Hamzali – Edeklerci – Toplik, Krivolak army field; in the Municipality of Chucher-Sandevo between the villages of Tanushevci and Ramno; and in the Municipality of Dolneni near the village of Desovo.
