Skopje, 3 September 2025 (MIA) -- The garbage fire that has been burning for days at the Vardarishte illegal landfill in Gazi Baba has been contained, the Crisis Management Center said in a press release.

According to the CMC, the brush fire in Dolneni's village of Dolgaec; the mountain fire at Kozhuf near Gevgelija; the forest fire at Jasen near Makedonski Brod; and the forest fire in Lipkovo's village of Nikushtak have been put under control, as well.

As of Wednesday morning, 13 out of the 18 wildfires reported nationwide have been extinguished, the CMC said. mr/
