Skopje, 8 July 2025 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said a total of 23 wildfires were registered in the country until 7 pm on Tuesday, of which 11 are still active and one is contained. 

Active fires are burning near Samokov and between the villages of Creshnevo, Lokvica and Slatina in the municipality of Makedonski Brod, between the villages of Blace and Chucher and near Kuchevishka Bara in the municipality of Chucher Sandevo, near the village of Ljubanci in the municipality of Butel, under Solunska Glava between the springs of Babuna and Banina Dupka, near the village of Beshishte in the Prilep region and from the village of Volino towards the village of Livada in the municipality of Ohrid. Active fires are also registered along the Gostivar-Tetovo highway where low vegetation is burning and near the villages of Krushevica, Kavadarci and Nikolikj near Dojran.

According to the CMC, nine fires have been extinguished and two have been localized.

The Government declared on Tuesday a 30-day state of emergency as fires spread across the country.
