Skopje, 22 August 2021 (MIA) – The public enterprises under the City of Skopje in the past four years together have procured over 130 new vehicles and mechanization, paid from the City of Skopje’s budget without being donations or assistance, Skopje Mayor Petre Shilegov said Sunday. Some of the new mechanization of the city’s public enterprises was presented Sunday on the parking lot outside the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center. According to Shilegov, it demonstrates that taxpayers’ money is spent for ‘the real priorities and real needs’ of the capital Skopje. “Skopje is in need of more efficient transportation, more efficient communal hygiene and better greenery management. As a result, our priorities have been and will still be to improve infrastructure, improve work conditions and improve the services of public enterprises,” Shilegov told reporters. The public enterprises procured with new vehicles and mechanization include the Skopje Public Transportation Enterprise, the public utility enterprise, the water and sewage enterprise, the city company in charge of maintaining streets and roads, the city company in charge of maintaining greenery, the company in charge of parking lots and the public enterprise in charge of the landfill Drisla. Shilegov picked out the new fire service extension ladder, which was recently procured. “It is the first such vehicle on the territory of the country, which the City of Skopje had bought with money from its budget,” he stated.
