Chief Prosecutor Kocevski meets caretaker Minister Toshkovski

Skopje, 20 February 2024 (MIA) - North Macedonia's Chief Prosecutor Ljupcho Kocevski met Tuesday with caretaker Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski, discussing several ongoing activities, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of North Macedonia said in a press release.
Kocevski briefed Toshkovski on the activities of the committee tasked with monitoring possible election irregularities related to the organization and administration of the elections, as well as the instructions given to all public prosecutor's offices for priority action in all cases related to violation of the electoral process. In addition, reads the press release, interlocutors stressed the need for close coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Interior in terms of monitoring the course of the elections.
"The Minister of Interior notified the Chief Prosecutor about the problem with the issuance of personal documents and the efforts to overcome it. Toshkovski said he will conduct an internal analysis of the procedures and steps within the Ministry of Interior, and submit it to the prosecutor's office together with the entire documentation related to the activities that led to the impossibility of timely replacing citizens' personal documents. Kocevski stressed that the prosecution monitors the situation, checks the allegations in the submitted charges, and if any crime is established, it will act in accordance with its legal powers," the press release adds.
