Chief of Defense visits troops deployed in Romania, Bulgaria as part of NATO multinational battlegroups

Skopje, 26 February 2024 (MIA) — Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski is paying a two-day working visit to North Macedonia's army members deployed in Bulgaria and Romania as part of the NATO multinational force “enhanced Vigilance Activities” operation.
According to the Army's General Staff in a press release, Lieutenant General Gjurchinovski will meet with the commanders of the NATO Multinational Battlegroup and the Multinational Brigade South-East commanders as well as with the Romanian Army's Chief of General Staff.
North Macedonia's contribution to the NATO “enhanced Vigilance Activities” operation began in late 2022, when troops were deployed to Romania and Bulgaria to be part of the NATO collective deterrence and defense system, the release says. mr/
