Central Registry: Associations who fail to align names with law to be removed from Registry

Skopje, 16 February 2023 (MIA) – The organizations registered in line with the Law on Associations and Foundations who will not align their names and activities with the law, will be removed from the Registry, said the Central Registry in a press release Thursday.

“In line with the amendments to the Law on Associations and Foundations, the associations are obliged to align their names, programs, goals and activities with the provisions of the law, within three months of the law’s entry into force. The deadline expires today – February 16, 2023,” said the Central Registry in the press release.

The Central Registry added that the organizations that will fail to align their names, programs, goals and activities will be removed from the Registry, on the basis of a decision made by the Minister of Justice following a negative opinion from the Government Commission.

In the press release, the Registry said that on February 10 they received a request for a name change from the Bulgarian culture club “Tsar Boris III” in Ohrid.

The Central Registry stated that on Friday they will submit a list of associations set to be assessed by the Ministry of Justice. Additionally, the Central Registry will submit a report on whether the “Tsar Boris III” association submitted a request for an appropriate name change in line with the Law on Associations and Foundations. ad/nn/
