Bytyqi: We’re introducing first public service AI-based digital assistant

Skopje, 15 February 2023 (MIA) – The first artificial intelligence (AI) - based digital assistant Ada has been presented during Wednesday’s government session, through which individuals and companies will be able to receive detailed information about the conditions for investing in our country and the state aid.

“CodeWell Unlimited company, which won at the public call for digital assistant based on artificial intelligence issued by the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development for which the state provided MKD 9 million for its implementation, carried out a simulation of how Ada will work in practice, based on artificial intelligence, which, to collect information, communicated with some of the institutions that appear as providers of state aid, and that included the Cabinet of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs, coordination of economic departments and investments in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Agency for foreign investments and export promotion, the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones and the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development,” Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said.

Bytyqi said that through first artificial intelligence-based digital assistant Ada, individuals and interested foreign companies will be able to receive relevant information about the available programmes and open calls, and it guarantees transparency, efficient and effective obtaining of business real-time data.

“With the introduction of the AI-based digital assistant, up to 80 percent of all interactions with users will be automated, which will contribute to a great saving of resources, proactive communication with citizens, reduction of congestion in institutions, as well as more efficient and effective processes, services and increase of productivity of the employees. Ada will be available 24/7 to citizens and interested foreign investors and will be able to answer all frequently asked questions related to the government’s state aid programmes,” Bytyqi said.

“Ada speaks three languages, Macedonian, Albanian and English, and is named after Ada Lovelace, first female who wrote first algorithm for a machine and is considered the first computer programmer,” he added.

In the future, the AI-based digital assistant Ada will be the main contact point for citizens' services, which will be fully digitized. It will contribute to increasing the efficiency, effectiveness, but more importantly the transparency of public services.
