Bytyqi: We encourage local economic development by supporting new investments

Skopje, 29 April 2023 (MIA) - The successful business development activity of DIM Commerce company is an example of how the government's economic policies give tangible results in encouraging and promoting balanced regional development, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said while visiting the company in Valandovo, which is supported through the Law on Financial Support of Investments.

Deputy PM Bytyqi underscored that the company manages to maintain its competitiveness on foreign markets through continuous investment and production improvement.

“By constantly adopting the most up-to-date business practices and technologies in the field of fruit and vegetable processing and canning, DIM Commerce is an example of a growing, developing and sustainable company in our country, outside the most developed Skopje planning region, which is supported through the Law on Financial Support of Investments,” Bytyqi added.

He said that in 2021 the company started a new five-year investment cycle of over €1 million, which is supported in terms of new employment, increase in capital investments and income, as well as in strengthening its competitiveness in the market. And through the processing of healthy, ecological canned fruits and vegetables will give a positive impact on the local economic development, which for the citizens of Valandovo and the surrounding area will mean new jobs, higher wages and high standard of living.

“Once again as the Government we have shown in action that we are committed in our intention to transparently support domestic companies in their efforts to improve production, competitiveness and the creation of new jobs,” Bytyqi said.

Vladimir Markov, manager at the DIM Commerce company, thanked for the received financial assistance, which, among other things, is used for the construction of a fruit and vegetable processing facility.

“In 2021, our company signed an agreement with the Government for investment support. We are here in the facility that we are building since 2021 from the funds received through financial assistance for investments and are intended for the construction of this facility, which will serve as the function of the existing one, for the processing of fruits and vegetables,” Markov said.
