Bytyqi meets Qatari chargé d'affaires Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani

Skopje, 30 July 2021 (MIA) — Future economic cooperation between North Macedonia and Qatar was in the spotlight of Friday's meeting between Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and the Qatari chargé d'affaires Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, according to an official press release.
According to Deputy PM Bytyqi’s office, the meeting reaffirmed the countries’ friendly relations and high level of political cooperation. To develop bilateral ties further, the release says, the countries should be encouraged to increase trade and investments.
At the meeting, Bytyqi spoke about the benefits of investing in North Macedonia. He also presented the 2021-2027 Intervention Investment Plan, which includes energy, road and railway infrastructure, manufacturing, retail, health care, tourism, and environmental protection projects worth a total of 8 billion 175 million euros.
Al Thani and Bytyqi agreed about the potential for increasing economic cooperation and said their communication would intensify in the future to deepen economic ties between the two countries and to achieve sustainable economic growth and better living conditions for citizens, the release adds. mr/
