Bytyqi: BEG must deliver heating energy until economic operator is selected
Skopje, 24 September 2022 (MIA) – Balkan Energy Group (BEG) must deliver heating energy until a new economic operator is selected, said Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi on Saturday.
Deputy PM Bytyqi, who was quizzed by reporters on the start of the heating season in Skopje, said BEG must have reserves of gas and other raw materials in order to provide heating in the capital.
According to him, the Government will not leave citizens without heating.
“Unfortunately, the City of Skopje did not undertake anything regarding the heating issue, which prompted the Government to set up three companies for this purpose, thus demonstrating its commitment to solving the problem. At this time, the distribution network is managed by Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM),” said Bytyqi.
