Bulgarian parliamentary foreign affairs committee to discuss French proposal tomorrow
Sofia, 21 June 2022 (MIA) – The Bulgarian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs has scheduled a session on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the French proposal on unblocking North Macedonia’s European integration process, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports. The session’s agenda includes presenting “the position of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry on the minutes of the joint meeting in accordance with Article 12 of the 2017 Treaty with North Macedonia, as well as a set of documents of the EU Presidency regarding the EU enlargement process.” In addition, Bulgarian Parliament is debating on Tuesday a no-confidence motion against the Government of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. On Tuesday morning, upon arriving at Bulgaria’s National Assembly, , Petkov said he was optimistic that his government would survive the no-confidence motion. To survive, Petkov’s government needs to be backed by at least 121 of the 240 MPs in the Parliament. The debate on the motion will take place at the National Assembly on Tuesday, and voting should take place 24 hours after the debate.
