Krivolak, 9 October 2025 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, Army Chief of Staff, Major-General Sashko Lafchiski, and Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy attended Thursday an artillery shooting drill using the new Boran howitzers purchased from Turkey.
The new Army uniform, procured within the agreement on military-financial cooperation with Turkey, was also promoted at an event held at the Krivolak army field.
"This is a historic day for the Army and the Ministry of Defense. We have a strategic partner and friend in Turkey. I believe that we will have many large projects in the future as well," said Minister Misajlovski.

He also referred to the 4,000 Army uniforms provided by Turkey, worth over Mden 2.5 million (EUR 40,000).
"We soon expect the arrival of over 3,500 pairs of boots from Turkey, as well as other equipment, such as sniper rifles and non-armored vehicles," added Misajlovski.

General Lafchiski said the Macedonian Army troops have demonstrated their capability and professionalism in handling the Boran howitzers, only three months after their arrival.
"Let me thank our strategic partner Türkiye for its brotherly and long-standing support. Our partnership is a proof that true friendship is built upon trust, mutual respect and joint objectives. This cooperation reaffirms our joint commitment to peace, stability and security, both by strengthening our national capacities and in international peacekeeping missions," noted Lafchiski.
