Bojmacaliev: Arachinovo, Matejche, Shuto Orizari police ready for May 8 elections

Skopje, 30 April 2024 (MIA) — Additional Deputy Minister of Interior Mitko Bojmacaliev and Public Security Bureau head Sasho Tasevski held working meetings with the leadership of the Matejche, Arachinovo and Shuto Orizari police departments ahead of the presidential runnoff and the parliamentary elections on May 8, according to an official press release.


The goal of the meetings was to guarantee fair, free and democratic elections as well as maintain the results achieved in the first quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Interior release says.


Citing the results achieved by these police departments, the release says that the areas' security situation was good, pointing as noteworthy several solved crimes of electricity theft.


"At the Matejche Police Department, there are a total of 20 crimes, of which 17 are for electricity theft," the release says. "The Arachinovo Police Department logged 21 crimes of electricity theft. At the Shuto Orizari Police Department, 13 violations of public order and peace were reported. All of them were solved and misdemeanor charges filed."


At the meetings, Bojmacaliev once again confirmed his commitment to organizing elections according to European standards and highlighted the importance of working according to the law, with the aim of guaranteeing the elections' security mr/
