Shtip, 23 February 2024 (MIA) - All transporters with professional driver certificates will be able to replace their travel documents through a fast-track procedure, said Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski during a meeting with representatives of transport companies in the eastern region on Friday.
Minister Bochvarski noted that the measure was agreed upon at the request of the Transport Ministry and transport associations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
In terms of permits and licenses, Bochvarski added, the Transport Ministry will timely replace all necessary documents for domestic transporters as to not disrupt international transport.
Representatives from the road traffic sector at the Transport Ministry, "MAKAM-TRANS" transport association spokesperson Biljana Muratovska, BEST MOBILITY- NTA association spokesperson Olivera Miovska, and representatives from the Public Revenue Office and Customs administration also attended the meeting.
Minister Bochvarski said transport is one of the most important branches of the gross domestic product and therefore its development and sustainability is very important.
"I am glad that we have gathered here today for this regional meeting to discuss all open issues regarding transport in the country. We show commitment and offer support for the further development of domestic and international transport, and proof of this is the solution to secure a fast-track procedure for issuing and replacing travel documents for all transporters and carriers that own professional driver certificates, because transport cannot stop and the economy must continue to grow. The Transport Ministry continues to be a strong partner to domestic transporters, and we will continue providing better conditions for the functioning of transport activity," Bochvarski stressed. ssh/ik/
