Vinica, 22 July 2022 (MIA) – The forest fire burning on the slopes of Plachkovica near the village of Blatec was extinguished by Kochani and Vinica firefighters this afternoon, MIA’s Kochani correspondent reports. The fire blazed through oak trees, shrubs and brush across some 15 hectares of forest. The firefighters prevented it from spreading to orchards nearby. The call about the fire came around noon, Vinica fire department head Stanko Spasov said. The blazes had started in the Skaranica area near the Vinica – Berovo regional road. The Vinica firefighters were joined by Kochani firefighters and volunteers. Together, they localized the fire before extinguishing it completely. A team of firefighters remains on the ground to make sure the fire is well put out. The fire was also reported to the local police. mr/
