Skopje, 22 June 2025 (MIA) – A public call for the procurement of 120 electric eco-friendly buses has been already issued and according to the Law on Public Procurements, bids are collected in a 30-day period. They are expected to be sent by mid-July, Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski said Sunday.
The buses will arrive alongside charging stations, he added. “There will be two buses for at least one charging station. The whole system has been designed well.”
“I hope there will be competition and more companies will apply. It will help us secure the best and most modern buses at the best price,” Nikoloski stated responding to a journalist question at an event inaugurating a reconstructed regional road with PM Hristijan Mickoski also in attendance.
Of 120 e-buses, he said, 80 will be made available for the Skopje public transportation and the remaining 40 will be handed out to the municipalities having organized public transportation.
“I hope we’ll make sure the citizens commute in their municipalities quickly and more efficiently and we’ll also make sure to protect the environment as the electric buses should reduce pollution,” the Minister stated.
