Besimi goes to Brussels on a working visit
Skopje, 20 February 2022 (MIA) — Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi has gone to Brussels on a two-day working visit as part of which he will will meet with senior representatives of the European Commission, according to a press release.
They will talk about the European future of North Macedonia, the expectations from the French Presidency regarding the country’s accession negotiations currently blocked by Bulgaria, and the country’s commitment to resolving open issues, the release says.
Minister Besimi will also discuss the priorities of the Ministry of Finance regarding the public financial management reform and reforms within the Economic Reform Program.
Other topics to be discussed include the energy crisis, inflation, and the measures the country is taking to deal with the crisis.
Besimi will meet with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni, EU Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn, and Deputy Director-General for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Maciej Popowski. mr/
