Skopje, 19 October 2023 (MIA) - A decline in the poverty rate, decline in unemployment, wage increase and GDP growth per capita in the medium term are only some of the expectations noted in the World Bank's Western Balkans Regular Economic Report published Thursday, which are based on the policies implemented by the Government, Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi posted on Facebook.
Besimi notes that expectations include growth of capital investments by 2.5 percent, wage growth based on the General Collective Agreement, growth of GDP per capita by 7 percent, drop in unemployment to about 9 percent and poverty rate down to 20 percent.
"Realization of capital investments, implementation of the reform process and continuing the EU accession negotiations will accelerate the potential for growth and improvement of citizens' standard of living. Economic growth will accelerate in the medium term, which this year is influenced by developments," said Besimi.
