Berovo, 12 February 2026 (MIA) — The Berovo Fire Department received a special fire truck from Slovenia's Bitnje Volunteer Firefighting Society, MIA's Delchevo correspondent reports.

The donation was officially received earlier Thursday by Berovo firefighters together with Berovo Mayor Petar Ruzhinski. He said the fire truck would improve Berovo's preparedness and efficiency in dealing with fires.

"I am confident the vehicle will contribute to more efficient and faster firefighting," he said, adding that it would also help improve public safety and protect nature.

The Berovo mayor thanked Berovo MP Sandra Gazinkovska, who had played a key role in making the donation happen. He also thanked his Kranj counterpart as well as Bitnje Volunteer Firefighting Society for their donation and their readiness for cooperation.

"This donation is an example of humanity and social responsibility and continues the sincere friendship and fruitful cooperation between our municipalities, which will be deepened in the future through new initiatives and projects of mutual interest," he said. mr/
