Berovo, 22 August 2022 (MIA) — The Municipality of Berovo is giving Mden 5,000 to each of 68 local first graders so they can buy school supplies ahead of starting school, according to MIA's Berovo correspondent. The town council is implementing the measure as a part of the 2022 Social Protection Program in which every first grader and high school freshman receives Mden 5,000 at the start of the school year. Berovo Mayor Zvonko Pekevski expressed hopes that these funds would be welcome and help families with schoolchildren. "Berovo will always commit to improving learning conditions. We will do everything we can to provide this," Pekevski said. The Municipality of Berovo has set aside Mden 340,000 from its 2022 budget for supporting the first graders. dk/mr/
