Bekteshi expects solidarity from businesses, citizens not to carry crisis burden

Skopje, 15 March 2023 (MIA) - I expect solidarity from all businesses in the country so that citizens do not carry the crisis burdern, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi told MIA ahead of tomorrow's price cap of pasta and dairy products.
According to the decision, pasta prices will drop by 15 percent, while those of certain dairy products by ten.
The Ministry of Economy is making further data analyses, together with associations and chambers, over a possible enlargement of the Government's price cap decision.
"This includes eggs, rice and sugar. As soon as the data analyses are finished, we will decide whether to cap prices of these products. We are taking all decisions together with associations and chambers. We expect solidarity from all businesses in the country so that citizens do not carry the crisis burden", Bekteshi told MIA.
By the end of February, the Government also capped the price of white bread to Mden 33.
