Skopje, 8 November 2023 (MIA) — Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi received newly appointed Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer and discussed the successful cooperation between North Macedonia and Austria and the Austrian support for the country's European path.

According to the Ministry of Economy in a press release, Minister Bekteshi wished Ambassador Pammer a successful term in office and strengthening the relations between the two countries.

"Over the past 20 years, Austria has invested over 830 million euros in North Macedonia. Austria is our long-standing, proven partner in economic cooperation," the Ministry of Economy's release says.

The total trade between January and August 2023 was 170 million euros, which is 14.3 percent higher compared to the same time in 2022.

Nonetheless, Bekteshi and Pammer agreed there was room for strengthening economic cooperation, the release adds. mr/
