Tirana, 16 March 2025 (MIA) – Albanian President Bajram Begaj extended condolences after the deadly fire that broke out overnight in a nightclub in Kochani, which killed over 50 people and injured hundreds others. 

"My sincere and deep condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and to all the citizens of our neighbouring friendly country. My prayers and the prayers of the Albanian people are with those injured, wishing them a speedy recovery, and that the pain in the city of Kochani does not grow further," Begaj posted on X. 

Albanian media since this morning have been reporting on a 'major tragedy in North Macedonia', mainly citing the Media Information Agency (MIA).
