Bebe Rexha donates to Debar hospital
Debar, 1 September 2021 (MIA) – Singer Bleta 'Bebe' Rexha, whose father is from Debar, together with other US immigrants from the Debar region, donated funds to the Debar General Hospital, which provides health care for Debar and the citizens of Centar Zhupa.
“Blood is thicker than water, and you can’t forget your roots is an old saying affirmed by our people in the USA in these tough times now with the pandemic, and before, many times. The Debar migrant community has been donating funds that will be spent for the necessities of our facility. Bebe Rexha is proud of her Debar origins, and we’re proud of her because she donated $10,000, and a few people from Debar and Centar Zhupa have donated $5,000,” hospital director Baki Alili told MIA.
He added that Debar community representative Bekim Pachuku, with funds from the open fund, directly paid the $5,000 Tehnogas bill for oxygen, which is being used to help Covid patients.
The epidemiological condition in this area remains the same, according to Alili.
“There are 40 patients being treated in our two Covid wards, two more than yesterday, and 34 are on oxygen. 25 people are being treated in ER conditions, and seven people are being treated in healthcare facilities in Skopje,” Alili said.
The Covid-19 immunization process continues. Around 250 Sinopharm, Pfizer and Astra Zeneca vaccines are being applied daily, on average, in Debar. dk/mr/
