Bashkim Besimi elected member of Council of Public Prosecutors

Skopje, 25 March 2024 (MIA) — Public Prosecutor Bashkim Besimi has been elected new member of the Council of Public Prosecutors in a vote held on Friday.
Out of the national Public Prosecutor's Office's 12 public prosecutors with the right to vote, six voted for Besimi. The other candidates, Naum Panoski and Ferat Elezi, received four votes and two votes, respectively.
The Council of Public Prosecutors consists of 11 members, of whom the chief public prosecutor is an ex officio member; six members are elected in a direct vote by public prosecutors; and four members are elected by Parliament.
Each elected member serves a four-year term and can serve another term if reelected. mr/
