Ban on movement in forests extended to September 30

Skopje, 2 September 2025 (MIA) - The ban on movement in forests is being extended to September 30, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy on Tuesday. Those violating the ban will be handed a fine of EUR 1.500-2.000.

The Ministry urged citizens to exercise caution in order to prevent wildfires. It noted that the risk of wildfires remains high in the coming period and the citizens should be vigilant, as the high temperatures continue to pose a significant threat.

“It is essential that the public understands the danger, as well as the consequences of wildfires and acts in a way that contributes to the protection and preservation of forests, as well as the environment, property and communities as a whole,” the Ministry said.

In a press release on Tuesday morning, the Crisis Management Center said it had registered a total of 18 wildfires, of which 13 have been extinguished.
