Ban on heavy vehicles along several routes, winter traffic advisory active

Skopje, 20 January 2024 (MIA) - A ban on buses and heavy vehicles is in effect along several routes as more snow falls across the country on Saturday.
Due to strong wind and large drifts of snow along the route from the village of Rogachevo to the Jazhince border crossing, a ban on buses and trucks has been in place since early today, while other vehicles must have mandatory winter equipment.
A truck driving ban is also in place along the route from Gostivar towards Strazha and Kichevo, as well as along the Mavrovo-Debar road.
Due to heavy snowfall, a ban on heavy vehicles is also in place since early Saturday along the road from Struga to the Kjafasan border crossing.
Wet roads and winter conditions are reported nationwide, with a winter traffic advisory active.
"Makedonija Pat" public enterprise urges drivers to keep mandatory winter equipment in their vehicles, use winter tires, adjust speed to weather conditions, keep warm clothes in their vehicles and have their fuel tanks full.
""Makedonija Pat" public enterprise staff are on the ground and fully prepared to work to keep all roads clear," the enterprise said in a press release.
