Bajrami: No disruptions reported on election day

Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) – Wednesday’s election day reports no major disruptions and irregularities, said Public Prosecutor Xhelal Bajrami, head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s temporary committee tasked with monitoring possible election-related offences.
Speaking to reporters, Bajrami stated it was reported to the Radovish Public Prosecutor’s Office that a voter in the village of Buchim reportedly showed their ballot to the observers of a political party. Also, he said that the Delchevo Public Prosecutor’s Office opened a case after a police report about attempts to look into official documents of the Komunalec Public Enterprise involving an alleged bribing during elections.
“Adequate steps will be taken if it is determined that offenses have been made,” Bajrami said.
He added that the temporary committee of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for monitoring possible offenses against the elections will observe the elections by the end of the day as well as the May 8 double elections – the second round of the presidential elections and the parliamentary elections.
