Belgrade, 2 August 2022 (MIA) – A memorial plate on the session of the Anti-Fascist Assembly of the National Liberation of Macedonia (ASNOM) in St.Prohor Pchinski in Serbia was placed in the monastery on Tuesday.
The plate reads, both in Macedonian and Serbian: This place hosted on 2 August 1944 the first session of the Anti-Fascist Assembly of the National Liberation of Macedonia, at which the people’s representatives took historic decisions that established the statehood and authenticity of the Macedonian people, expressing their commitment to live together with the peoples of Yugoslavia.
A state-church delegation led by President Stevo Pendarovski, also including Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska, MPs, Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric officials and representatives of the WWII veterans’ union will lay flowers at the plate later in the day.
The Republic of Serbia will be represented by Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic and Serbian Orthodox Church officials.
