Arsova and Ivanovski win Skopje Marathon setting new records
Skopje, 3 October 2021 (MIA) – Adrijana Pop Arsova in women’s competition and Dario Ivanovski in men’s competition won Sunday’s Wizz Air Skopje Marathon while setting new state records.
Out of 150 competitors, both men and women, Pop Arsova finished the race in 2:40:36. It took 2:21:27 to complete the marathon.
Ecuador’s Sylvia Jukaila and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Mladen Stevanovic finished second. Biljana Kiradzieva and David Perlic of Germany won third place.
The marathon, the half-marathon, the relay marathon and the 5km race took place in Skopje’s streets and boulevards, which were closed or partly closed for traffic until 2 p.m.
The Committee for Infectious Diseases has approved specific COVID-19 protocols for the marathon.
The 17th Wizz Air Skopje Marathon is organized by the Skopje Sports Union in cooperation with Rabotnicki athletics club, under the auspices of the City of Skopje, the EU Delegation and the Youth and Sports Agency.
