Skopje, 12 November 2024 (MIA) - Army Chief of Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, met Tuesday with Hungarian counterpart Gábor Böröndi, as part of his official visit to the Hungarian Defense Forces in Budapest.

Following the welcome with high military honors, Generals Lafchinski and Böröndi discussed bilateral military cooperation and possibility to further strengthen cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.

Talks also focused on possible cooperation between special operations forces, combat diving trainings, support for light infantry battalion divisions as primary NATO capability targets, joint trainings and exercises, utilizing the capacities of both armies for improving interoperability of the two allied armies and participation in international operations and missions led by NATO and EU, exchange of experiences and lessons, and using NATO and EU funds, the Army General Staff said in a press release.

Major General Lafchinski expressed gratitude for the Hungarian team's support, which actively participated in extinguishing the fires that devastated the country during the summer. ssh/ik/
