Anticorruption watchdog holds discussion on preventing corruption at all levels of governance

Skopje, 5 December 2024 (MIA) — Ahead of International Anti-Corruption Day, Dec. 9, the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption is holding a discussion on preventing corruption at all levels of governance.

 

According to the anti-corruption commission in a press release, the event will be held in Parliament, with Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi giving opening remarks.

 

The discussion will focus on key activities and challenges in building a corruption-resistant system.

 

Other speakers include Minister of Justice Igor Filkov, Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski, Swiss Ambassador Véronique Hulmann, Public Procurement Bureau head Mare Bogeva Mickovska, and Financial Police director Slobodan Ivanovski.

 

The discussion is expected to result in conclusions and future recommendations.

 

The event is supported by the USAID Partnership Against Corruption Activity and the Government of Switzerland's Communities with Integrity Project implemented by the National Democratic Institute. mr/
