Skopje, 4 August 2023 (MIA) - The State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption said Friday that it will lodge a motion to the Struga Basic Prosecutor's Office for criminal prosecution of Struga Mayor Ramiz Merko over abuse of office and authority. 

The Anti-Corruption Commission said at its 90th session on Friday that Merko has illegally appointed an acting principal of a primary school in Struga on two occasions, who neither had completed higher education nor had the necessary work experience.

According to members of the Anti-Corruption Commission, the acting director and several other employees, who helped the acting director forge documents that she needed in order to be appointed, should also be criminally prosecuted.
