Skopje, 19 August 2025 (MIA) - Protection and Rescue Directorate head, Stojanche Angelov, reported Tuesday morning that a section of the fire in the Jasen hunting area remains active.

“Unfortunately, the fire in the Jasen hunting area is still not extinguished. One section remains active. The rain that fell in very small amounts did not put out the fire. Here, we are operating with two “Air Tractor” firefighting planes from the Protection and Rescue Directorate,” Angelov said.

“Our efforts will focus on this location with two “Air Tractor” planes and the police helicopter. We will do our utmost today to bring this remaining section of the fire fully under control,” he added.

The R1106 regional road between Makedonski Brod and Skopje remains closed to all traffic due to ongoing fire at the Jasen National Park.
