Angela Aggeler sworn in as new U.S. Ambassador to North Macedonia
Skopje, 27 September 2022 (MIA) – In a ceremony at the U.S. Department of State, Angela Aggeler was sworn in as the new U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of North Macedonia, the U.S. Embassy in Skopje posted on Facebook.
“Ambassador Aggeler is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, having most recently served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to Pakistan. She also served as Chargé d’affaires ad interim. She previously served as Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France, as part of a career that also included assignments in Skopje, New Delhi, Hanoi, and Washington, D.C.,” reads the U.S. Embassy’s post.
A recipient of the Assistant Secretary’s Award for Excellence and the Mildred Sinclaire Award for Language, Ambassador Aggeler speaks Macedonian, French and some Hindi.
Angela Aggeler is to replace Kate Mary Byrnes, who has served as United States Ambassador to North Macedonia since July 2019.
