Skopje, 10 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski said the false bomb threats sent by email to schools on Friday are “hybrid threats” to which the institutions responded appropriately and are currently working to determine the reason behind them.

“The difference from before is that we immediately spoke with the Minister [of Education and Science], we organized an ad hoc working group with the Minister of Interior that assessed the issues faced by the system, we developed several methodologies that will have to be followed in the coming period to ensure a long-term prevention,” Andonovski said.

He said the Interior Ministry, the Education Ministry and the municipalities acted appropriately during the threats, and work is currently underway to determine “why this is happening”.  

“We will have hybrid attacks, the attacks on our cyber infrastructure will continue, but what matters is how the institutions respond, and now they are responding systemically and in cooperation with each other. We are ready to help the Ministry of Education and Science and all other institutions if such problems reappear,” Andonovski told journalists.
