Andonovski: Balancer tool now has legal basis, valid until law or methodology changes

Skopje, 30 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski welcomed the application of the Balancer web tool for employment in the public sector in line with revised data from the 2021 Census and new percentage calculations according to which only the number of resident population in the country is taken into account.

In response to reporters' questions after a meeting with the working group tasked with drafting a cyber strategy, Andonovski also welcomed Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev's engagement in adhering to the new way of applying the Balancer tool.

He pointed out that the new way of applying the Balancer tool will be valid until the law or the methodology is changed, noting that the tool has been restored to its legal basis.

"This means that with the current Balancer tool, only people who live in Macedonia are considered for employment according to that tool. I welcome the engagement of the Minister of Public Administration in applying the Balancer tool which is now legal until we change the law or change the methodology. I often say that only by changing the methodology, we can talk about a new way of observing the principle of adequate and fair representation. But until that happens, until we have a new law or a change in methodology, this legal basis now provided by the tool will be valid," said Andonovski.
