Andonovski – Gawkowski: Greater cooperation between Macedonia and Poland in digital transformation

Skopje, 5 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, with whom he discussed opportunities for intensive cooperation between Macedonia and Poland in the field of digital transformation, the Ministry of Digital Transformation said in a press release Thursday.

As part of the meeting held in Karpacz, Minister Gawkowski presented the Polish experience regarding the digitization of government services and highlighted the impressive transformation of Poland, especially in relation to the use of open data.

Minister Andonovski assessed these achievements as positive experiences that the Republic of Macedonia can use in the development of its own digital services.

Andonovski and Gawkowski also discussed potential sources of financial assistance, especially from the European Union, in support of the digital agenda in both countries. Deputy PM Gawkowski noted Poland’s readiness to help with complete utilization of international funds in the creation of a strong digital system.

“Macedonia aims to become a digital hub in the region. Cooperation with experienced partners like Poland and private investments in the IT sector will help us achieve that goal, improving services for the citizens, boosting the economy and building a better international reputation of the country,” Minister Andonovski said.

Both Ministers agreed to intensify cooperation in the field of digital transformation in the future, exchanging ideas and good practices for the modernization of the public sector.
