Analyses underway over prices to be capped without causing market imbalance

Skopje, 24 March 2023 (MIA) - We will do all we can to cap the price, without causing market imbalance, because we have confirmed and shown that it can be done without there being shortage on the market, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Friday.

"We conduct analyses for all products, some of the analyses are ready, but they must also be aligned with other ministries. At the moment, work is underway at the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, certainly in cooperation with manufacturers, so that good decisions can be made in the interest of the citizens, as well as the employees in the factories," Kovachevski told reporters on Friday.

За се она на што може да се ограничи цената, а што нема да влијае на дисбаланс на пазарот ние тоа ќе го направиме, бидејќи потврдивме и покажавме дека може да се направи, а притоа да нема нед

He added it cannot be said that there can be one measure for one group of products, because, according to him, within each product there are articles, some of which are produced here, and some are imported.

"That's why when you look at bread, you know the types of bread regarding which the price is capped. Also, in terms of pasta, you know the types of pasta regarding which the price dropped by 15 percent, same as with dairy products where it dropped by 10 percent," Kovachevski noted.
