Amsterdam - Skopje flight restarts after 12-year hiatus

Skopje, 3 March 2025 (MIA) - After a 12-year hiatus, Amsterdam - Skopje is back on schedule, after an aircraft of Dutch low-cost airline "Transavia" landed at International Airport Skopje late on Sunday.
The Dutch airline will operate the flight twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday, airport operator TAV Macedonia said in a press release.
"Today marks a significant milestone for TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports a member of Groupe ADP. This new route is not just about expanding our network; it is about expanding possibilities for Macedonian citizens. With Amsterdam being one of the most vibrant destinations in Europe, this flight will not only bring people closer to world-class historical attractions and collections of great art, but it will also allow tourists to experience its picturesque landscapes," said TAV Macedonia General Manager Nejat Kurt.
Transavia CEO Marcel de Nooijer said adding Skopje to the airline routes offers passengers more options for travel across Europe.
“Whether it is for a city trip or business purposes, Skopje will amaze you. The city is a unique and breathtaking destination, in a beautiful country. We are very proud to fly this route," said de Nooijer.
This new route from Skopje International Airport will enable easier travel for business purposes, tourism, and family visits. It will facilitate easier access for travelers to explore new destinations, enhancing the tourism industry in both countries, reads the press release.
