Skopje, 20 March 2025 (MIA) — The ambulance driver who died of a heart attack only hours after he had taken a large number of people injured in the Kochani fire to hospital will be posthumously decorated, Minister of Health Arben Taravari told a press conference Thursday.

"We all worked more than 20 hours that day," Taravari said, adding that he had no information about how many hours the driver had been on duty.

"But it is undeniable that he did a great job transporting patients," he said. "As health minister, I plan on calling his family next week and decorating him posthumously."

Asked to comment on reports that another ambulance driver had also had a heart attack, Taravari said he had no information about it. mr/
